So how about window displays? For those of you with store windows, what kind of things have you done? Window displays are the bain of my existence, I really hate having to re-do the window displays from season to season and holiday to holiday. I usually love the final results, but just getting the motivation to do them is very hard.
In recent years I have turned to full size banners(see the two examples attached) Having these full size banners printed is really inexpensive(usually no more than $120.00) and saves a lot of time in coming up with new displays since they can be re-used throughout the year. Banners also enable you to incorporated type which can help send a message which is an advantage over just having a pretty window full of shirts. We have a local printer that does our banners for us, but banners.com seem to have good prices also.
Here are some of my favorites that we have done over the years. Most of the props are all made from foam core board. We have always tried to have some kind of theme to the windows, something funny that the customers can really lose themselves in and interact with.
We try to always incorporate shirts and other items that pertain to that specific holiday or theme, but we really like making it fun. It all else fails we settle for just a window of shirts or a banner. We have also started putting a monitor in the window playing a video of our artists at work that is just looped all day to play over and over. Take a look at these examples and feel free to comment and ask questions.
