Event Pricing

how to price events.jpg

So lets talk about Event Pricing....such as Birthday parties, Bar/Batmitzvahs, corporate parties....etc....How do you Price?

I think it's pretty obvious that there is absolutely no one way to price and one can not even have a "standard" price for all events since all events usually have something different about them that makes it impossible to fit into some kind of mold. But you can usually figure out a pretty good "formula" or "guideline" so that you do not have to rack your brain each and every time you have to price an event.....the key is being flexible.

The first thing one has to do is get a good idea of how many pieces of any given item an artist is capable of painting in an hour.

Paying Artists

December 30, 2019 michael dougherty
how to pay.jpg

A common question I get from other artists is how can I afford having multiple artists…..and how do I pay them?

The first part of this question is all a matter of opinion and quite frankly a matter of how much does one needs in order to support their life style.

I could easily make an additional $40,000-$50,000 more a year by working more and having less artists to pay but my lifestyle and the way I prefer to live my life by being able to spend time with family and having free time to do the things I want to do mean more to me than an additional $50,000 a year. This might sound crazy to some people, hence the reason why I said it’s all a matter of personal opinion.

I also prefer to be able to have multiple locations as well as do events.  Since a person can not be in two places at once this entails having a staff.

Hiring Artists

how to hire2.jpg

Another question that comes up a lot is how do we find, hire and train artists.

Here at Anything Airbrushed plus we have had great success in concentrating on contacting all the local art teachers at high schools as well as all the local art colleges.

The High Schools we are looking for their best Junior and Senior art students. Colleges we are mostly looking for Freshman as most college students start co-oping in their Junior and Senior years. It is a lot of initial work getting the email addresses for all the art teachers. You have to take the time to visit all the school websites and find out the names and emails....or call the schools and explain to them you are looking at hiring and want to send some information. But it is worth it in the long run.

Separate your social media...

Separate your Social Media from Business and Personal.

This is a topic that is a little controversial and yet for the life of me I can not understand why. There are so many people out there who DO NOT have separate accounts for their business and their personal lives. In todays society there is so much emphasis on social media that it just seems like common sense that you have two separate accounts.

I think it is generally agreed that the purpose of Social media is to “keep in contact with people”….this is true for a person as well as a business. Therefore any posts should be targeted toward the appropriate audience.
